THOUSANDS JOIN GIANT GROUP FOR 13TH ANNUAL RIDE LIKE KING EVENT!
This year’s event included three days of virtual and outdoor rides that generated bike donations for people and communities in need through World Bicycle Relief. Nearly 5000 riders, close to double the number from last year, completed the six Zwift virtual group rides. Collectively, they rode 195,000 kilometers. Giant Group pledged to donate one WBR Buffalo Bicycle for every 1300 kilometers ridden, which worked out to be 150 bikes. To double the impact, Giant Group also matched the number of bikes earned by the community 1:1, resulting in 300 total bikes donated (compared to 100 last year). “The global community came together for Ride Like King 13 to celebrate cycling, and to ride for a better world,” said Giant Group Global Marketing Director An Le. “Thousands of people around the world, from pros and employees to retail partners and riders, also joined together on Zwift to help amplify the power of bicycles, and Giant Group is honored to donate 300 life-changing Buffalo Bicycles to World Bicycle Relief as a result.” The Buffalo Bicycle is a purpose-built bike that’s engineered for heavy loads, long distances and rugged terrain. The bikes are simple to maintain and easy to repair, ensuring years of reliable use in harsh conditions. They are manufactured by Giant Group and assembled by World Bicycle Relief employees in local regions around the world. Beyond the Zwift rides, many participants organized their own rides on roads, paths or trails. They shared their experiences by posting photos and stories on Giant and Liv social media channels with the hashtag #RideLikeKing. More prizes were awarded to these participants, with another 13 people selected as winners of the limited-edition jerseys, signed by King Liu. To learn more about World Bicycle Relief, click here.
